Executive Program

EXECUTIVE PROGRAM

The Youth in Government Executive Cabinet is made up of the Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Chief Financial Officer, and the Commissioner of Agriculture. All of these positions are chosen (via popular election) during the previous year’s State Assembly. These members of the Executive Cabinet also serve as the Presiding Officers, along with the Chief of Staff.

 

Department Heads

Department Heads make up the remainder of the Executive Branch. They will become experts in the issue facing their department. They will advocate on behalf of bills their department would like to see become law. They will prepare issue briefs to provide to the Cabinet Officials about their department priorities and issues facing the state. They will testify in committee and cabinet hearings. 

The Departments represented are:

• Secretary of State
• Surgeon General
• Department of Children & Families
• Department of Environmental Protection
• Department of Business and Professional Regulation
• Department of Corrections
• Department of Transportation

Delegates can apply to be a part of the Executive Branch in the fall.
